Peperomia marble is a variety of peperomia obtusifolia, also known as baby rubber plant. It is a small and bushy plant that can grow up to 12 in. tall and wide. It has round green leaves with colorful splashes on the edges, creating a stunning marbling effect.
It is native to Central and South America, but can be grown indoors as a houseplant. Provide medium to bright indirect light, such as near an east-facing window. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves, and low light, which can reduce the variegation. Water when the top 1 in. to 2 in. of soil feel dry to the touch. Allow excess water to drain out and avoid overwatering, which can cause root rot. Reduce watering frequency in winter. Use well-draining potting mix that contains perlite, vermiculite or sand for aeration. You can also add some peat moss or coco coir for moisture retention. Feed once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Do not fertilize in winter.
